Zachary Lunn was born in Concord, MA but grew up in Las Vegas, NV. He enlisted in the United States Army in 2006 and served two combat tours in Iraq as a medic with the 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment. After his military service, Zachary earned an MFA from North Carolina State University. His stories and poems have been selected as prizewinners by Percival Everett, Pinckney Benedict, and Gabrielle Calvocoressi. He is the recipient of an Academy of American Poets Prize and has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and the PEN/Robert J. Dau Short Story Prize for Emerging Writers. His writing appears or is forthcoming in Oxford American, The Missouri Review, Carve, The Pedestal Magazine, and elsewhere.
